Heavily armed policemen have taken position at Zankli Hospital, Abuja, where embattled senator, Dino Melaye, is being treated after he allegedly jumped out of a moving police vehicle and sustained an injury.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that a team of policemen trailed Mr Melaye to the hospital and re-arrested him.

According to a statement by the Force Spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, Mr Melaye escaped from lawful police custody while being taken for arraignment in Federal High Court, Lokoja, from Abuja.

Mr Moshood alleged that hoodlums and miscreants in two Toyota Hilux vehicles blocked the police vehicle conveying Melaye around Area 1 roundabout and took him to an unknown destination.
