Ex-Minister, Mahmud Tukur, dies in Abuja

A former minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Mahmud Tukur, has died in the early hours of Friday.

Close family members confirmed the death to Daily Trust.

According to the report, Mr Tukur died from an undisclosed ailment at a hospital in Abuja.

“His remains is being conveyed to Yola for the funeral,” a source said.

He was the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano and also a former director of Cadbury Nigeria.

Mr Tukur was a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari.
