NANS crisis: CAN youth wing chair absolves Seyi Tinubu of wrong-doing
Belusochukwu Enwere, National Chairman Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria(YOWICAN) refutes allegations of Seyi Tinubu’s involvement in Atiku Isah’s kidnapping.
The controversy stems from a recent NANS convention in Abuja, where Seyi Tinubu was accused of orchestrating disruptions to influence the election of his preferred candidate, Olushola Oladoja, as the factional national president of the student body.
Reports indicated that after a successful convention Oladoja was elected as the new NANS President which did not go down well with Atiku Isah who allegedly did not participate in the election, but went ahead to declare himself as the President of NANS.
Mr Isah had accused Mr Tinubu of orchestrating violence at the NANS convention, an allegation that has since been dismissed by the President’s son.
Mr Enwere emphasized that such accusations undermine the efforts of the government to address security challenges in the country.
He demanded an unreserved apologies from Isah to Seyi Tinubu for wrongfully accusing him of breaking the law.
Mr Enwere said it is widely know that despite being the son of the President, Seyi Tinubu is a law abiding citizen of Nigeria.
He also called on the security agencies to prevail in the situation by arresting Isah for unwarranted allegations of kidnap and violence on Seyi Tinubu.
Mr Enwere also called on political actors to engage in constructive dialogue and avoid spreading misinformation that could destabilize the nation.
“At a time when the government is making concerted efforts to combat insecurity, it is disheartening to see individuals propagate falsehoods for political gain.
“We must unite to support initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability”, he added.
