The Nasarawa State Government has threatened to prosecute anybody caught selling school bags with the inscription of United Nation Children’s Education Fund, UNICEF.
Permanent Secretary in the office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dauda Sabo, said this in a statement in Lafia on Thursday.
Mr Sabo said the UNICEF school bags were supposed to be given to schoolchildren free and not to be sold.
He described the vendors of the bags as criminals, adding that the state government would not allow this to continue.
He urged residents to report anyone seen selling the bags to the security agencies for prompt action.
Mr Sabo also directed all the security agencies in the state to arrest and prosecute anyone caught selling such bags.
