The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, has officially handed over 27 newly restored and CNG-converted cars, Sharon model, to the Kano State Internal Revenue Service, KIRS.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the hand-over is part of Asset Restore Programme, a partnership dedicated to refurbishing and modernizing government assets for improved efficiency and sustainability.
Speaking on the occasion held at the KIRS headquarters in Kano on Thursday, Muhammad Yadudu, the coordinator of the programme highlighted NASENI’s commitment to supporting government agencies with innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
In a statement he signed and issued in Kano, Mr Yadudu, who led the representatives of NASENI and the Asset Restore Programme team to the ceremony, emphasized that the conversion of the vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, would not only extend their lifespan but also reduce fuel costs and environmental impact.
In his remarks, the executive chairman of KIRS, Zaid Abubakar, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the restored vehicles would enhance revenue collection efficiency across the state.
He reaffirmed KIRS’ commitment to utilizing the assets effectively to improve service delivery.
Dignitaries at the event lauded the Asset Restore Program as a model for sustainable governance, urging continued collaboration between NASENI and the Kano State Government.
