A former Commissioner for Agriculture in Kano State, Nasiru Mukhtar has emerged the governorship candidate of Legacy Party of Nigeria, LPN.
As the sole aspirant for the position, Mr Mukhtar was ratified by the delegates and state executives of the party at a State Congress held in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Mukhtar was also a former governorship candidate of UNDP.
Born in 1956, Mr Mukhtar is a Sociology graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the same institution.
He worked with NITEL as deputy director, Materials Management and was formerly a deputy general manager research and strategy of NEXIM Bank.
He was appointed as Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Kano between 1986 to1989.
He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Corporate Administration.
