The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has denied suspending the operating license of Dana Air against earlier reports by DAILY NIGERIAN that the airline’s licence was suspended.
In an email sent to DAILY NIGERIAN, NCAA’s spokesperson, Sam Adurogboye, denied sending any statement or granting interview to journalists on the matter.
“I read a report titled: Nigerian Government Bans Dana Air. And this was credited to me.
“This is not true. Is a fake news.
“Dana Air is in full operations and there is no basis to warrant such an action. I didn’t issue any news release nor speak to anyone,” he said in the statement.
DAILY NIGERIAN wishes to sincerely apologise to Dana Airline Limited for a report it carried on alleged ban on Dana Airline by NCAA.
We have since discovered that the report is false.
Although it is a global practice to lift stories from a credible medium (and the report in question was lifted from one of the most authoritative news sites in Nigeria, PREMIUM TIMES) we take full responsibility for error.
While regretting inconveniences our report might have caused Dana Airline Limited, we wish to also sincerely apologize to our readers as well as Dana Air passengers for the misleading inadvertently carried by our medium.
DAILY NIGERIAN will take appropriate punitive measures against the person(s) responsible for the report in order to set example and forestall future recurrence.
