NDLEA arrests 2 suspects with 27 local guns

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Niger Command, says it has arrested two suspects with 27 locally fabricated AK-47 riffles at Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.

The Acting Commander of the agency in the state, Isaac Aloye, announced this to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Minna on Tuesday.

According to him, the suspects were arrested with 12 locally fabricated AK 47 riffles and fifteen locally fabricated pistols on Kontagora- Mashegu road.

“The riffles were concealed in a white sack on a motorcycle to an known place when the suspects were arrested”, he said.

The acting commander said that primary investigations revealed that the fabricator of the weapons resided in Kampani village of Mashegu Local Government Area.

He said that each of the AK-47 riffles was fabricated at N5,000 while the pistol was fabricated at N3,000 each.

“We will transfer the suspects and weapons to the police command Minna, for further investigation and prosecutions”, he said.
