The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFund, says it has strengthened its system to ensure zero misappropriation and seamless access to education loans for students.

The Team Lead NELFund and Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr Aliyu Muhammad, said this in Ibadan on Wednesday during a sensitisation programme for students of TPI.

According to him, the organisation has been working with security agencies and the graft agencies to ensure that education loans get to students who applied for it.

He noted that the allegations on misappropriation were false, adding the system is being strengthened and improved from time to time.

“We’ve been working seriously with the security agencies and the graft agencies.

“You’ve heard allegations, and I guess at the same time, you’ve heard that these allegations are false.

“Yes, it’s confirmed to be false. So the process is seamless and we don’t have any issues moving forward,” Muhammad said.

He stated that sensitisation programmes were done for all tertiary institutions based on the catchment as well as invitations received from these institutions.

“This is to sensitise the students on the impact and what they intend to achieve with the NELFund loan. Yes, that’s the essence of our visit here,” Muhammad said.
