A Chief Magistrate Court in Akure has remanded an operator of barbering salon, Oluwaseun Ojo, in prison custody, for alleged killing his friend.
The deceased identified has Shola Omotayo was said to have been allegedly murdered by Ojo over the ownership of noodles.
The accused person, of No.10 Familusi Gaga Area of Oke-Aro, Akure, was facing a one-count charge of murder.
Police Prosecutor, Pelumi Adejuwon, told the court that Ojo stabbed Shola with broken bottles at the chest and back while arguing over noodles cooked by the deceased, adding that the action of the accused resulted in Ojo’s death.
Daily Times gathered from the court that the duo lived together.
His offence is contrary to section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminals Code Cap 37 Vol.1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The plea by the accused’s counsel, Mrs. Obanigba Grace, was not taken by the court.
