Ibrahim Uwais, the son of ex-Nigerian Chief Justice, Mohammed Uwais, who reportedly joined ISIS is dead.
Family sources said he was killed in air raid on Sunday when US war planes hit ISIS camps near Aleppo in Syria.
Writing on her Facebook page, Ibrahim’s elder sister, Maryam Uwais, broke the news of his death, describing him as an honest and straight forward person.
“With deep pain and great sorrow in my heart, I have lost my dearest brother Ibrahim Uwais who passed on yesterday.
“He was loved by all of us. To those that knew him, please forgive him and pray for him may Allah forgive all his sins.
“He was a different person; honest, never lies. He was a straight forward person who does not mince his words. I love Ibrahim and I pray that we shall meet in Aljannat Firdausi inshaa Allah,” she wrote.
Although a close family source confirmed Ibrahim’s death in Syria, Maryam however did not not disclose where and how her brother died.
Ibrahim, 41, secretly traveled alongside his two wives and five children to Syria in February 2015 to join the dreaded terrorist group, ISIS.
When he took the decision to travel to Syria, both his wives agreed to join him.
When Justice Uwais learnt about the disappearance of his son and his family, he became disturbed and launched investigations.
It was later established that Ibrahim went to Syria via Turkey.
