The senator representing Niger South, Muhammad Bima, has trained some women and youths from his district on the best practices on shea butter and rice processing.
A statement signed by the lawmaker said participants from Agaie, Katcha and Lapai local government areas trained on shea butter processing, while participants from Edati, Lavun and Mokwa were trained on rice production.
The participants, the statement said, went home with starter packs and cash grants to boost their businesses.
“The training was in fulfilment of some of my campaign promises to drastically reduce unemployment and poverty among youths and women in Niger South Senatorial District,” the statement added.
