The district head of Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State, Muazu Adamu-Laka, has stripped a youth activist, Abdullahi Isah, of his traditional title as the Sarkin Matasa Bosso [Bosso youth leader] for supporting the planned nationwide hunger protest.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the district is part of the Minna Emirate Council.
It was gathered that the youth leader has openly supported the protest, which is scheduled to commence on August 1.
However, in a letter of dismissal addressed to Mr Isah and dated July 28, the monarch asked him to henceforth stop parading himself as the youth leader of Bosso.
“I hereby write to inform you that you have been dismissed from your title as Youth Leader of Bosso [Wakilin Matasan Bosso] with immediate effect from July 28, 2024.
“You should no longer call yourself as Youth Leader of Bosso. I hope you will make use of this information given to you”, the letter reads.
Mr Laka said the community will not condone any act that will destroy the peace and stability of the state.
