A cleric, Ven. Chukwunonso Anuba of the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Ugeuavo-Arochukwu, Abia State, says Nigerians must look beyond prayers for the country’s leadership challenge.
Anuba stated this on at a wedding of the Cross River Correspondent of Vanguard Newspaper, Uchechukwu Ike and Juliet-Nora Iroegbu on Monday in Arochukwu, Abia.
He said that the 2023 general elections are for Nigerians to take their destiny into their hands by voting for the right leaders.
Mr Anuba said that for the people to get the right leadership, they must ensure they all have their Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, ready for the poll.
According to him, “we are all expectant of a good thing and most importantly, a nation that we are desired and will be proud of.
“Our problem has always been that of leadership and as I have always said, prayers alone cannot solve this problem.
“We all must take responsibility and the starting point is by collecting and getting ready our PVCs.
“No one should sit on the fence, nobody will kill you when you come out to chose a leader that will take you to the next level.
“Arm yourselves with your PVCs and vote for someone who will change the fortune of the country.
“We must all come out to vote for the right leader from the house of assemblies, national assembly, governors and the presidency,” he said.
The cleric admonished the couple to live a Godly life and should be subservient to each other.
