Nigerian Air Force, NAF, says it has commenced the conduct of Operation THUNDER STRIKE to attack selected Boko Haram terrorist locations in the Northeast, which are currently inaccessible to own troops on account of the onset of the rainy season.
In a statement by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Olatokunbo Adesanya, the operation is an independent Air Interdiction by the Air Task Force.
According to him, several targets have already been successfully acquired with encouraging results.
He said that the Chief of the Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, is currently in Maiduguri to enable him to have first-hand information on the operation, which is still on-going.
