Nigerian Army raids Kano mosque, arrests 13 suspected Boko Haram members

The Nigerian Army has arrested 13 suspected members of Boko Haram in Kano on Saturday.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the troops stormed Filin Lazio, Hotoro area in Kano metropolis on Saturday evening, raiding a mosque and some houses.

Spokesman for the 3rd Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Njoko Irabor, confirmed the arrest, adding the exercise would be continued to rid the state of terrorists elements.

Residents of the area told our reporter that the raid was carried out while the Muslim faithful were breaking their Ramadan fast, a situation that caused panic among the residents.

They revealed that the troops took away some unidentified items from the mosque.
