The Nigerian Army on Saturday posted pictures of soldiers jubilating with their officers at the battlefield to counter reports of mutiny.
On Friday, an online medium reported “a complete breakdown of order and discipline” at the 21 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Sambisa as soldiers moved against their superiors and sporadically fired gunshots.
A short statement posted by the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, countered the reported mutiny with photographs of soldiers in high spirit.
“Contrary to the lies being propagated by some media houses about soldiers of 21 Brigade, below are photographs of the soldiers with their officers and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division together yesterday,” Mr. Usman, who was recently promoted to brigadier general, said.
