Nigerian lawyer appointed into ICC arbitration court

The International Chamber of Commerce, ICC, has announced the appointment of a Nigerian maritime lawyer, Jean Anishere (SAN), into the International Court of Arbitration.

Ms Anishere made the disclosure in a statement she issued in Lagos on Tuesday.

She thanked God for the appointment for the 2024-2027 mandate.

Ms Anishere said that the newly-constituted leadership of the ICC was announced on Monday (July 1).

The senior advocate of Nigeria applauded re-election of Claudia Salomon as the President of ICC International Court of Arbitration.

She also congratulated new and returning members of the court.

Ms Anishere wrote five volumes of Essays in Admiralty, a comprehensive collection of essays and papers that focused on maritime law and published by Petrospot UK.

She is the Editor-In-Chief of Admiralty Law Reports of Nigeria, Volumes 1-32 (a compendium of judgments on admiralty matters in Nigeria.

Ms Anishere is a past President of Women in Shipping and Trade Association and a past President of African Women in Maritime Organization as well as a past Continental President of WIMAfrica.
