Nigerians express optimism in Tinubu’s administration

Some Nigerians at the swearing-in ceremony of Bola Tinubu in Abuja, have expressed optimism in the new administration.

Some of them who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria said that the country would be better under Mr Tinubu.

They also advised Nigerians to imbibe the culture of uttering positive words to bless the country and pray for leaders rather than cursing them.

Otunba Ademola Popoola said the event was the beginning of a new era for the entire country, hence the need to put the past behind so as to make progress to the ‘Nigeria we want’.

“Hope has come and Nigerians are expecting this new hope. Tinubu is the man of destiny, looking at his antecedents as the former governor of Lagos state.

“I crave the indulgence of the entire country to create chance for peace as we cannot achieve anything without the peaceful atmosphere for the new government to operate.

“Let’s stop cursing our leaders and the country as well, rather we should pray for ourselves positively.”

Popoola however tasked the new president to initiate modern ways of tackling insecurity and the economic challenges facing the country.

Similarly, Mrs Jennifer Serrano, expressed optimism that Tinubu’s government, coming with fresh ideas would make the country better in the next four years.

“I am very sure as he performed in Lagos state where he served as governor before, he will surely use his wealth of his experience to build the country. “

Chief Daboju Gogo, in his contributions, said he is expecting the new government to usher in good things ranging from security, unity among Nigerians, appointments based on federal character principles and above all good governance.

Mr Dogo, who is also Chief of Nume Group of Houses in Kalabari Kingdom, River State, said he believed as other Nigerians do, that the new government would not disappoint Nigerians.

Meanwhile Eagle Square, the venue of the event was filled to capacity with the presence of dignitaries within and outside the country for the occasion.

The event also featured parade by the military while security agencies such as the Nigeria Customs Service, Immigration, Federal Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps as well as the National Youth Service Corps were all present.

Air displays by the Nigerian Air Force also thrilled the guests.
