The newly appointed executive secretary and chief executive officer of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, NIPC, Aisha Rimi, has called on media practitioners to report issues that will attract investors to the country.
Ms Rimi made the appeal during the 2023 NIPC Media meet and greet during the weekend in Abuja.
“Let’s highlight the good stories; let us learn, and let us learn to support each other. You see some countries where you never hear the press talking bad about their country; they are always, no matter which way the story goes, they spin it to their benefit,” Ms Rimi said.
While expressing her readiness to work with the Nigerian media, Ms Rimi said the fourth estate of realm is an important stakeholder in achieving the set goals and objectives of commission.
She disclosed that the commission will always be open to providing the necessary information to the public.
“We know the bottom-line effects that a successful investment will have on our economy, job creation, diversification of the economy and all of that.
“So, as we also now have a new administration, we are realigning our focus and efforts to key into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda,” Ms Rimi added.
The NIPC boss also noted that every citizen has a role to play in ensuring the success of Nigeria.
