NITDA partners IT coy for training 30,000 Nigerians on blockchain tech skills

The National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, in collaboration with Domineum Blockchain Solutions has announced its Blockchain Scholarship, 2022 Scheme.

The programme is aimed at training 30,000 Nigerians on blockchain technology for developing career skillset in the emerging technologies.

Hadiza Umar, Head Corporate Affairs and External Relations of NITDA and Mohammed Jega, Co-Founder, Domenium Blockchain Solutions, made the announcement in a joint statement issued in Abuja.

Kashifu Inuwa, Director-General of NIT DA was quoted as recalling that during the Digital Nigeria that held recently, he said the scholarship training would help to accelerate blockchain adoption in Nigeria.

Mr Inuwa said: “It will make Nigeria a global player in the blockchain industry.

“We want Nigerians to take advantage of the scholarship to become early solution providers in the fourth industrial revolution.”

Mr Jega, on his part, said they were committed towards delivering quality education and equipping participants with the skills to build real-life blockchain solutions.

Also, Calistus Igwilo, the Course Coordinator was quoted as saying that blockchain would power the next generation data.

Mr Igwilo further said that the courses had been carefully designed to equip participants with the right skills to become professionals and help shape the future of blockchain industry in the country.

The scheme has Domineum Blockchain Solutions as the implementing partner and BSV Blockchain Academy, a Bitcoin enterprise as the course content provider.
