North Korean dictator executes army chief

The North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, has executed country’s army chief of staff, Ri Yong Gil, news sources from South Korea said on Wednesday.

North Korea on Sunday launched a long-range rocket amid global outcry over its nuclear test.

Ri was chief of the Korean People’s Army General Staff was executed this month.

There were allegations of “corruption and factional conspiracy” against the executed general.

In 2013, the young leader executed his uncle, Jang Song Thaek, once considered the second-in-command in the country.

Also in May last year, North Korea executed its defense chief by firing squad with antiaircraft gun.
