A first class student of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, Chukwuemeka Akachi, has committed suicide after battling with a long time mental illness.
Mr Akachi committed suicide on Sunday May 12, was a final year student of English and Literary studies.
In one of his previous posts on his Facebook page, Mr Akachi disclosed that he had been battling mental health challenges as well as how such ailment affected his growth.
Mr Akachi added that his mental health had been on life support for a while now.
According to him, life support was expensive and difficult to keep up with.

“With due respect I really appreciation all the family and Friends that have been there to support me during his hard times.
“Thanks to all those who call, text, visit, speak to me. May we always remember, may we never forget.
“You may have added a few hours, months or days to my time here. But you know life support is expensive right”, Mr Akachi wrote on his page few hours to his demise.
In his suicide note, Mr Akachi chose Jo Nketaih’s poem to further explain why he committed the suicide.
The Poem reads: “They said you came looking for me. I didnt drown; I was the water”.
“Where do atheists go to when they die?,” the deceased added.
