The National University Commission has accredited eight courses at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina.
The accreditation followed the resources assessment visit by a team from the commission led by Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Danjumma.
The accredited courses include B Tech, Automobile Technology and B tech building technology/wood work technology, B tech metal work technology and B tech electrical/electronic technology.
Others are B tech biology education, B tech tech Chemistry education and B B tech mathematics education.
Speaking at the occasion, the team leader, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Danjumma said the team was at the polytechnic last year for an assessment visit to evaluate the courses offered at the institution.
In his remarks, the rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Mudi Kurfi said the accreditation was no doubt a mark of achievement.
He noted that the institution’s economic value will be increased, stressing that offering some degree courses will uplift the status of the polytechnic.
