NULGE vows to ensure full implementation of LG autonomy

The Caretaker Committee President of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Nankpak Njomiri has vowed to keep dialoguing with the government to ensure the full implementation of the local government autonomy.

Addressing members of the union during the inauguration of the Nasarawa state caretaker committee at the state secretariat of the union in Lafia, Mr Njomiri stated that local government autonomy will guarantee development at the grassroots.

Mr Njomiri said the caretaker committee would ensure that members are fully taken care off, especially their welfare by both the government and the union.

He added that the union would always be vanguard of good governance and uphold the constitution of Nigeria and ensure members discharge their duties as at when due.

The national president urge member to always key into government policies and create enabling environment that would foster unity among members.

In his acceptance speech, the state caretaker chairman, Haladu Ibrahim-Agah promised to carry members along and always dialogue with government on the way forward for the local government administration in the state and country at large.

“We shall carry all financial members along and be open to constructive opinions on how best to carry out constitutional responsibilities to conduct a free, fair and credible elections at both local and state branches,” Mr Ibrahim-Agah said.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that highlights of the event was the inauguration of both the state and
local government caretaker committee leadership of the union in the State.
