The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has deployed 1,800 Corps members to Gombe State for the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Orientation course.
This is contained in a statement made available by Margaret Dakama, the scheme’s Public Relations Officer, PRO, in Gombe on Monday.
Ms Dakama, quoting the Gombe state coordinator, Ada Imoni, said the orientation for the prospective Corps members was expected to hold from Nov 24 to Dec 14, 2021.
Mrs Imoni said that the registration would be conducted between Nov 24 and Nov 28, hence all prospective Corps members were expected to report to the camp for registration.
She said that the Corps members were expected to report for orientation at the NYSC Temporary Orientation camp in Amada community, Gombe State.
The state coordinator urged the Corps members to adhere strictly to all COVID-19 protocols before, during and after the orientation exercise.
“In line with NYSC extant guidelines on COVID-19 safety protoocols, all Prospective Corps Members and camp officials must undergo COVID-19 test before being admitted into the camp.”
Mrs Imoni stated that the Scheme was collaborating with State Health officials and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, in the conduct of the COVID-19 testing.
She advised camp participants to take the COVID-19 vaccination.
“It is safe and would help mitigate the spread of the virus,” Mrs Imoni said.
