The Dorector General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has said that zonal offices of the Corps would be established in the six geo-political zones of the country, with the North Central office, sited in Niger state.
The DG stated this on Minna during a visit to the Niger state acting governor, Mr Mohammed Ketso on Tuesday adding that the scheme had received approval for the establishment of the zonal offices.
“We have the approval for establishing area offices in the six geo-political zones across the country and Niger state has been chosen to host the North Central area office.”
He said he was in the state to request for the location where the office will be including the support and cooperation of the state government.
“We are here to appeal to the state government to provide accommodations for the staff that will be posted to man the secretariat. We hope you will oblige us this request.”
Ibrahim said that if all is set, the area office would be set up in the next one month in Niger state.
Responding, the acting governor, Ketso assured the NYSC DG of the cooperation of the state government to provide accommodation to site the area office of the NYSC.
“We are ready to strengthen our relationship with all federal government institutions in the state. We are glad that NYSC valued us enough to choose the state to site its north central office.”
