Paramilitary recruitment: CDCFIB assures Nigerians of transparency

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, CDCFIB, has assured Nigerians of transparency in recruitment into any of the paramilitary agencies.

This is contained in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, by Juliet Okeh, spokesperson for the CDCFIB.

Mrs Okeh said that the the newly appointed Secretary to the board, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, gave the assurance in Abuja.

Mr Jubril said that he was committed to ensuring that the mandate of the board was attained in recruiting efficient personnel.

He said that there was a need to develop effective and ethical personnel for the paramilitary agencies under the board’s purview for better service delivery.

Mr Jubril, who was the National Chairman of the Nigeria Legion until his appointment, said he would use his position to encourage retired officers to become members of the legion.

He noted that some retired officers had already begun to show interest in identifying with the organisation.

He appreciated President Bola Tinubu for considering him for the position.

”I take this appointment as a challenge to put in my best, to uphold the vision and mandate of the CDCFIB,” he said.
