The national publicity secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, has been released from prison custody after meeting his bail conditions on Thursday.

Metuh’s aide, Richard Ihediwa, confirmed release of his principal Thursday evening, saying Metuh had now reunited with his family.

The PDP spokesman is standing trial at the Federal High Court, Abuja for receiving the sum of N400million from the embattled ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki, in the $2.1billion arms deal.

Last week the court set stringent bail conditions that included payment of N400 million from two sureties with properties in the Maitama area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Metuh has been in prison custody in the past few weeks until the bail conditions were relaxed by Justice Okon Abang earlier this week, following Metuh’s counsel, Onyeachi Ikpeazu’s application that the conditions be varied.
