The Federal Capital Territory, FCT’s major roads leading to the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, have been flooded as a result of downpour that started in the early hours of Today, (Thursday), crippling commercial activities in major centres of the city.
DAILY NIGERIAN reports that several vehicles were stuck in the flooded water, as well as commercial activities along the Murtala Muhammed way, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Way (Airport Road) and many other feeder roads across the city.
At Murtala Muhammed Way, it was observed that only one side of the 10-lane highway is accessible as the other lane became impassable for motorists.
Similarly, according to a report by The Punch, Nigeran Army Resource Centre end of the Abuja-Zuba Expressway was flooded, with several vehicles stuck in the water.
The road from the expressway linking Aso Drive, Department of State Services headquarters and back gate to the Presidential Villa was also impassable.
Road users coming from Kubwa end of the Federal Capital Territory were forced to make a detour and take alternative routes.
