Some hoodlums have reportedly defaced the statue of late Obafemi Awolowo located in Ikeja area of Lagos State.

Recall that the statue was erected by former Governor Akinwumi Ambode, in recognition of the late nationalist’s contribution to the country’s democracy.

The angry youths have been on rampage destroying public and private structures and businesses, following the #EndSARS protests that degenerated into civic disobedience across the country.

It was gathered that the hoodlums pelted stones at the statue, carting away with the symbolic eyeglasses the iconic Yoruba leader was known for.
