The Muslim Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, MMPN, Plateau State chapter, has congratulated Governor Simon Lalong over his re-election victory, calling him to strive hard to deliver quality leadership.

In a statement on Friday by the association’s secretary, Muhammad Tanko-Shittu, the media practitioners also congratulated all other elected candidates in the just-concluded general elections in the state.

The group, on the other hand, commended the people of the state over their orderly, peaceful and civilised manner before, during and after the elections.

“We wish to extend our heartfelt felicitation, to His Excellency, Governor-elect Simon Bako Lalong, his deputy governor-elect, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, and all National and State Assembly members-elect in the state over their victory at the polls.

“Governor Lalong has once again overwhelmingly earned the majority confidence of the Plateau electorates. It is indeed a pointer to the overall acceptability of his people-oriented policies anchored on the principles of truth, honesty, all inclusive governance and purposeful leadership.

“That the people have reposed their renewed confidence in your administration, we urge that you strive hard to deliver more effective material benefits and best quality leadership that would unit rather than divide the people,” the statement noted.
