The Kano State Police Command on Thursday arrested one Aminu Farawa for allegedly locking up his biological son, Ahmed Aminu, for 7 years.
The state police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, in a statement, explained that the boy, 30, was locked up in the father’s garage without proper feeding and health care.
According to Mr Haruna, a Team of Operation Puff-Adder, which rescued the victim rushed him to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, in the state.
The police said that a preliminary investigations revealed that the father confessed to have locked-up the victim, however, insisting that it was for three years.
According to the father, the punishment was out of suspicion for Drug-Abuse by the boy.
Meanwhile, the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Habu Sani, said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, for discreet investigations.
