Police arrest notorious Abuja car thief in Zamfara

Badawi Abdullahi Ahmed, 38, alleged notorious car thief in Abuja has been arrested by officers of the FCT Police Command in Zamfara.

He was trailed by Police detectives from Maitama Division to Talata Mafara in Zamfara where he was intercepted and arrested with a stolen vehicle.

In a statement on Sunday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndirpaya, said Mr Abdullahi specializes in stealing cars from where they are parked.

His most recent car theft led to his arrest. The suspect stole a blue Toyota Corolla with registration number FKJ 625 DV from Aguiyi Ironsi street in Maitama, Abuja after which officers began trailing him.

Upon his arrest, officers seized two suspected master keys and a bag containing mechanical tools from him.

The suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Babaji Sunday advised citizens to fortify their vehicles with additional security measures.
