The Plateau State Police Command on Tuesday placed ban on all forms of public procession in the state.
The spokesperson for the command, Tyopev Terna, said the ban became necessary in view of the intelligence report received over a planned disruption of peace by some elements in the state.
However, Mr Terna, who is a deputy inspector of police, appealed to the residents of the state to apply and seek police permission for any form of public outings.
“This is as a result of the credible intelligence the Command has received that some misguided elements who are bent on destroying the relative peace being enjoyed in Plateau State want to hide under the guise of procession to achieve their evil intentions,” he said.
“The Command enjoins all the law-abiding residents in the State to go about their lawful businesses,” he added.
