Terrorists, suspected to be members of Boko Haram, on Saturday attacked Babbangida community in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe.
Spokesman for the police in the state, Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria in Damaturu.
He said the incident occurred around 4 pm, adding that the Divisional Police Officer and his men had made a strategic withdrawal from the area.
Mr Abdulkarim, an assistant superintendent of police, said details of the casualties of the attack were sketchy as the DPO had not updated him on development.
NAN reports that the terrorists had attacked the same community in October 2019, torching a section of the palace of the Emir of Jajere.
