Police operatives have fired tear gas and gunshots into the air to disperse protesters in Minna, Niger State.

The youths have attempted to block the popular Top Medical junction within the capital city before the police dispersed them.

It was gathered that the police had earlier fired teargas to disperse the protesters, but they reassembled and mounted a roadblock on the ever busy road.

Earlier, the state commissioner of police, Shawulu Danmamman, said the command had not received any formal requests for protests in the state.
