The police in Enugu State have arrested a four man suspected armed robbery gang, who had been on its wanted list for sometimes now.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, in a statement on Sunday in Enugu, said the suspects were arrested on Saturday, Feb. 16 at about 10:30 p.m.
He said a cut to size single barrel locally made gun was recovered from the suspects, noting that the feat was achieved through well gathered and coordinated intelligence information.
Mr Amaraizu, a superintendent of police, listed the suspects as Uchenna Okwor alias Selepete; Chinonso Nnamani alias Okochi; Sopuruchukwu Odono alias Carton and Kosarachi Anike.
“They were nabbed following a report of armed robbery against an Akpuoga Nike based poultry manager.
“The suspects allegedly at gun point along Anike Onuh Street, Akpuoga Nike, robbed the poultry manager of his handsets and N110,000 after inflicting injury on the tricycle rider conveying him,” he said.
Mr Amaraizu said the suspects who had been helping police operatives in their investigation, confessed to their involvement in cult related issues.
