The Police Service Commission, PSC, has approved 20 centres for the two-week medical screening of intending recruits in the on-going exercise.
The commission’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani stated on Thursday in Abuja that those eligible for medical screening were those that succeeded at the just-concluded Computer-based Tests, CBT, conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.
The candidates had been contacted on the dates and time for their screening, he stated.
He explained that the medical screening was designed to determine applicants’ health statuses and suitability for recruitment.
Mr Ani listed the centres as the Police Cottage Hospital, Bompai, Kano; Police College Ikeja; Police Clinic, Yola; Police Clinic, Makurdi; Police Cottage Hospital, Benin; Police Hospital, Calabar and MD Abubakar Police Hospital, Dei-Dei, Abuja.
Others are Police Clinic, Lokoja; Police Hospital, Umuahia; PTS Clinic, Sokoto; Police Hospital, Osogbo; PTS Clinic, Bauchi; Police Hospital, Awka; Ibrahim Coomassie Cottage Hospital, Katsina and Police College, Maiduguri.
Others still are Zone 16 Headquarters, Yenagoa; Police Hospital Akure; Ultramodern Police Hospital, Gashua Road, Damaturu; Police College Clinic, Kaduna and Police Secondary School Clinic, Zaria Road, Gusau.
He added that successful applicants would be directed to designated police colleges for mandatory training after the medical screening.
