The President of Niger Republic, Mahamadou Issoufou, says the establishment of the Maryam Abacha American University, MAAUN, in Maradi, Niger Republic, had brought socio-economic and other benefits to the country.
In a press statement sent to DAILY NIGERIAN on Sunday, the Nigerien president stated this when the Founder and President of MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Gwarzo led a delegation of the university to his office on Saturday in Niamey.
He noted that the establishment of the university in Maradi has also promoted educational development and also boosted economic growth and development of the state and the entire country.
In his remarks, Mr Gwarzo expressed his appreciation over the support and cooperation the government of Niger Republic has been giving to the university.
He restated the commitment of the University in the promotion of peaceful coexistence among the staff, students and the university host community.
