Hundreds of supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano State have taken to the streets to express their loyalty to him on Wednesday.
Mr. Buhari has been on medical vacation in London since January 19, raising controversy and fears that that his health condition has worsened.
There were anti-Buhari protests recently in Abuja and Lagos State on the economic situation in the country.
One of the protesters, Kabiru Aminu, said their group, #iStandWithBuhari, is organizing rallies in Abuja, Kano, Lagos and Kaduna States to counter the anti-Buhari protests.
He said those against the president are corrupt individuals bent on taking Nigeria back to the era of corruption and insecurity.
DAILY NIGERIAN correspondent observed that hundreds of youths converged on Zoo Road in the Kano metropolis and began marching at about 10:30am.
The supporters were also seen carrying placards with some inscriptions such as “say no to corruption”, “war against impunity”, “zero tolerance to corruption”, among others.
As at the time of filing in this report, the supporters were heading to the government house, from where they would move to the emir’s palace to perform a special prayer for Mr. Buhari’s recovery and the nation’s economy.
