A group of protesters on Monday stormed the headquarters of the All Progressive Congress, APC, demanding the resignation of the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, over what they described as poor handling of the party affairs.
Speaking with journalists during the protest, the group, ‘Young APC Stakeholders’, headed by Agricola Ejembi, lamented the “dwindling fortunes” of the party since Mr Oshiomhole took over the party’s reign of leadership.
He said: “We are disappointed with the leadership of the party. They have shown a level of impunity we are not comfortable with. Look at what happened in Bayelsa State of recent.

“It was caused by Oshiomhole himself. Enough is enough. When Oyegun was there, we were not having such problems even though he was weak. We want him to pack his load and vacate the office.”
Also speaking, another member of the group, Mathias Omikpa, stated that they would not allow the party to continue to be managed as if it is a garrison command.
“It cannot be continued to be managed as if it is a one-man affair. Enough is enough. From 24 states recently held by our party prior to the 2019 election to about 18 or 17 states now.
“We are calling on President Buhari and our national leader, Bola Tinubu, to act on this. They know what to do,” Mr Omikpa stressed.
