The Kano State Police Command has suspended a popular Hausa cultural festival, tashe, which traditionally starts from the 10th day of the holy month of Ramadan.
The command said the festival was suspended this year for security reasons.
“This is because criminals disguise under the pretense of the “Tashe” annual traditional performance to carry out criminal activities, such as Thuggery (Daba), Handset Snatching (Kwacen Waya), and Drug Abuse (Kwaya).
“Therefore, the Command has put security measures in place to tackle the activities of criminals.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi called on the good people of Kano state, especially Parents and Guardians to warn their children not to involve in any act of breaking law and order. Anyone caught will be dealt with according to provisions of the law. Wishing you a happy and successful Ramadan Fasting (Ramadan Mubarak).

The move to pay retiree 70% and above is a good thing. Retiree may use the lumpsum to start up a small scale business instead of the meagre monthly payment which sometime can’t give you a pot of soup or as the case may be. We support the move by the national assembly or whosoever that iniciated the idea for betterment and long life of retiree.
