A famous political singer, Dauda Kahutu-Rarara, has promised to take up the responsibility of the three policemen sacked by the Nigeria Police Force for misuse of firearms and unprofessional conduct.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the policemen who were on escort duty with Mr Rarara ran into trouble after a video went viral showing them shoot into the air in an apparent show of force against aggressors of the musician.

The force said after an investigation, Insp. Dahiru Shuaibu, Sgt. Abdullahi Badamasi and Sgt. Isah Danladi were found guilty and subsequently dismissed.

Reacting to their dismissal, the singer vowed to continue shouldering the responsibilities, including payment of their monthly salaries.

He, however, said his appeals to the force to temper justice with mercy ended in futility.

“My security guards were dismissed by the Nigerian Police Force. After they informed me about it, I asked them how much was their salary in the Nigerian police, and they told me.

“And I promise them that, henceforth, I will continue paying them what they are being paid by the police.

“They appealed the dismissal and if they are lucky, they might be reinstated, and if at the end of the day that didn’t happen, I will continue pay them.

“I reached out to different people to intervene before they were dismissed, but despite all the intervention and pleas, the police insisted on dismissing them,” Mr Rarara said.
