Rep. Abbas declares interest in 10th Assembly Speakership

The lawmaker representing the Zaria Federal constituency of Kaduna State, Tajudeen Abbas has declared his interest in the 10th National Assembly’s Speakership.

Mr Abbas, who has sponsored the highest number of bills in the current Assembly, declared his interest in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Land Transport said it was time to offer his service to the entire nation.

Mr Abbas is leading the bill sponsorship chart with 78 in the 9th Assembly and in the 8th Assembly (2015-2019).

Mr Abbas came third with 43 bills and 13 motions.

Also, with 20 of his bills assented to so far, Mr Abbas is the lawmaker with the highest number of bills, which had been assented to by the president.

The lawmaker who was reelected for the third time into the lower house, holds a Diploma in Accounting, B.Sc. in Business Administration and MBA, all from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He also holds a Ph.D. in Business Management from the Usman DanFodio University, Sokoto.
