The House of Representatives has resolved to mediate between the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS, in government-owned universities across the country.

The resolution was passed on Thursday, following the adoption of a motion sponsored by Abbas Tajudeen, who solicited the House’s intervention.

“I am moved by your comments that you as a company and the family of our late sage, Obafemi Awolowo, recognise what we are doing here.

“It is not just that, but for the Tribune newspaper, I am delighted.

“Let me briefly say something about the late sage. He was known as a genuine leader who contributed to the development of the country and the Western Region.

“The free education policy in the western part of the country is what makes that part remain where it is today,” Mr Tajudeen.
