The House of Representatives has summoned the Vice Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, and other principal officers of the school over alleged infraction observed in documents presented before it.

Abubakar Fulata, Chairman of the House Committee on University Education, said the committee took the decision on Thursday in Abuja.

He said as part of their oversight responsibility, they noticed infractions from the document but the vice chancellor and other principal officers failed to make themselves available.

Mr Fulata said the summon was not aimed at witch-hunting anyone; hence, there was no need for a hide-and-seek game.

He noted that the constitution that gave the National Assembly power of appropriation also gave it power of oversight to ensure that what was appropriated is implemented as desired.
