The Coalition of Northern Youth Organizations for National Integration, CONI, has called upon other patriotic Nigerians to lend their voice in seeking justice for the demolition of Rainbow Town Central Mosque, by Rivers State Government in Trans Amadi area of the state.
In a statement by the national coordinator of the group, Bishir Dauda, called on General Abdussalam Abubakar, Mathew Kukah, Sultan Sa’adu Abubakar, and other patriotic Nigerians, to use their influence and their various peace platforms to call Governor Wike to order.
“We are concerned about the demolition, we want all patriotic Nigerians, who believe in one Nigeria, love, justice, fairness and harmony for the nation, to intervene and seek justice for the people of Trans-Amadi.
“Given the utterances of Mr Wike, shortly before the illegal exercise in which he claimed that Rivers State is a Christian State, it is clear that there was more to it.
“Thus, the demolition is just part of the blue-print to not only persecute the Muslim in his state but also implement his agenda of turning Rivers into a Homogeneous Christian state even at the detriment of our constitution, peace and justice.

“The Agenda to our understanding includes divide and rule, to enable the governor manipulate Religion to score cheap political feat and distract the Good people of Rivers State from holding him accountable. Nigerians are wiser today,” Mr Dauda stressed.
The group, therefore, sought the governor to rebuild the mosque and compensate the Muslims.
“We should not let amnesia afflict us to ignore the oldest trick Nigerian politicians like Mr Wike employ to divide and rule us, that is religion,” Mr Dauda said.
However, the group commended the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who resorted to the acceptable legal and democratic action, despite the unwarranted attack against him.
“We are solidly behind Mr Ganduje in this crusade for calling Mr Wike to order.
“Wike’s was to stop other well-meaning Nigerians from pursuing justice for the victims of this illegality,” Mr dauda noted
