The Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential investigative panel has recommended the sacking and prosecution of the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.

Recall that the Presidential Investigative Committee is probing the activities of EFCC under the stewardship of suspended Acting Chairman of the agency Ibrahim Magu between 2015 and 2020.

According to a report by TheCable, the recommendation is contained in the panel’s interim report submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, after allegedly finding Mr Magu culpable of corruption and abuse of office.

Meanwhile, a video clip played before the Justice Ayo Salami-led Presidential Probe Panel had shown how some operatives of the EFCC, popularly known as ‘Magu Boys’ demanded bribe of N75million from a businessman.

The businessman, Donald Wokoma of Damijay Integrated Services Limited, had tendered an affidavit of fact in support of a petition he wrote against ‘Magu Boys’ for extortion before unfreezing his account.

Mr Giwa, who was a former lawyer to the company on the case with the EFCC, was heard in the video clip mentioning names of suspended Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu among other operatives over the bribery allegation.

Similarly, a seasoned investigator at the EFCC had exposed one Dr. Donald Wokoma, a Special Assistant to the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, of allegedly failing to execute N250 million contracts awarded to his firms in 2018.
