The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, has directed the people throughout Saudi Arabia to perform Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayer on Thursday.
Saudi Gazette quoted the Royal Court as giving the order in a statement on Monday carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
The statement recalled that the performance of Istisqa prayers is a good imitation of the deeds of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
King Salman called on all to pray to Allah for repentance, forgiveness, and mercy, the statement added.
